01 / DRIVE TECHNOLOGY

Closed-loop electro-hydraulic synchronization.

The SPC platform coordinates the two cylinders through the CNC system, position feedback and proportional hydraulic valve control. Feedback from the two sides is used to control ram position and synchronized motion.

The catalogue lists a standard 4+1-axis arrangement: Y1 and Y2 for the ram, X and R for backgauge positioning, and V for compensation. Mechanical crowning and throat-deformation compensation address different sources of deflection during bending.

Synchronized motion

Position feedback and proportional valve control coordinate the two cylinders.

4+1 axis configuration

The catalogue lists Y1, Y2, X, R and V control for the standard configuration.

Deflection compensation

Mechanical crowning and throat compensation support bending consistency.

Consider SPC when comparing an electro-hydraulic synchronized platform with the servo-driven series. Hydraulic component suppliers and the final axis configuration must be specified in the machine quotation.

02 / MACHINE CONFIGURATION

Built around the bending process.

Machine engineering

Frame strength, sheet positioning, tooling and compensation work together. The following assemblies appear in the shared SPES / SPS / SPC standard-configuration section of the 2024 catalogue.

Reinforced frame & ram

Catalogue standard

Reinforced frame & ram

The catalogue describes a strengthened frame and a thickened, widened ram to limit deformation under bending load. The frame provides the structural base for the tooling and positioning systems.

  • Reinforced frame construction and widened ram
  • Frame analysis illustration shown in the catalogue
Throat-deformation compensation

Catalogue standard

Throat-deformation compensation

A displacement sensor measures small deformation at the machine throat. This feedback supports compensation during bending rather than relying only on the unloaded frame position.

  • C-type throat compensation arrangement
  • GIVI displacement sensor identified in the catalogue
Guided backgauge positioning

Catalogue standard

Guided backgauge positioning

Ball-screw transmission and linear guides position the sheet against the stop fingers. The crossbeam uses a double-guide arrangement, while multi-level fingers provide different contact positions for the workpiece.

  • Ball screws and linear-guide crossbeam
  • Multi-level stop fingers; axis package specified separately
CNC mechanical crowning

Catalogue standard

CNC mechanical crowning

The compensation setting is calculated and controlled through the CNC system. Mechanical crowning adjusts the worktable to help maintain a consistent bending angle along the working length.

  • Closed-loop mechanical compensation
  • Works alongside, not in place of, correct tooling setup
Quick upper-tool clamping

Catalogue standard

Quick upper-tool clamping

The upper-tool quick-clamp arrangement is intended to make installation and removal more convenient. It supports tool retention and positioning during setup without making hydraulic WILA clamping part of the base package.

  • Quick-clamp upper-tool interface
  • Hydraulic WILA systems are listed separately as options
Adjustable front sheet supports

Catalogue standard

Adjustable front sheet supports

Front supports move along a linear guide and can be positioned for the workpiece. Rotation and height adjustment assist sheet support during setup and handling.

  • Position, rotation and height adjustment
  • CNC follower supports are a separate auxiliary option
Electrical & guide components

Catalogue standard

Electrical & guide components

The catalogue identifies Schneider electrical components and graphite self-lubricating copper plates. The plates provide a low-friction wear surface, while the electrical cabinet brings machine control components together.

  • Schneider components identified in the catalogue
  • Graphite self-lubricating guide plates
Press brake tooling & lower holders

Catalogue standard

Press brake tooling & lower holders

Forged and quenched press brake tooling is described alongside the lower-tool interface. The catalogue lists a double-V / T quick-change lower clamp as standard, with other holder arrangements available for discussion.

  • Punch and die profiles selected for the bend geometry
  • Single-V mechanical or hydraulic and multi-V arrangements are optional

Catalogue standard equipment is a reference for the published range. Exact components, suppliers and the machine-specific supply list are confirmed in the quotation. The drive and hydraulic architecture remain series-specific.

03 / CNC CONTROL

From the drawing to the bend sequence.

CNC system reference

The SPC machine illustration shows an SNSIE CNC system and lists 4+1-axis control. A controller's maximum capability does not mean every supported axis is installed on the machine.

SNSIE S15 / S21 catalogue reference

Shown on SPC: SNSIE system

SNSIE S15 / S21

A one-page programming interface brings bending information together, with programmable bend speed and step settings.

  • 15.6-inch S15 and 21.5-inch S21 touch interfaces
  • Bending-data calculation and machine-control functions
  • Automation interfaces described in the catalogue
Delem DA-T range catalogue reference

Configuration choice

Delem DA-T range

The catalogue spans numerical touch operation, 2D graphical programming and 3D simulation across different Delem controllers.

  • DA-53T: touch navigation, crowning control and tool library
  • DA-58T: 2D touch graphical programming
  • DA-66T: 2D programming and 3D product simulation; DA-69T: 2D/3D programming
Cybelec controls catalogue reference

Configuration choice

Cybelec controls

CybTouch and VT interfaces provide bending-program and calculation functions with graphical operation options suited to different requirements.

  • CybTouch 12 PS: EasyBend and bending calculations
  • CybTouch 15 PS: 2D programming and bend-step calculation
  • VT-19: 19-inch touchscreen and graphical programming

Controller features differ by model and software version. Axis count, graphical functions and machine interfaces must match the selected equipment; listing a controller family does not establish compatibility with every machine or option.

04 / OPTIONS & AUTOMATION

Extend the machine around your workpiece.

Options reference

Additional positioning, measurement, clamping and handling equipment can be discussed as part of your machine configuration. These items are separate from the catalogue standard assemblies above.

Multi-axis backgauge packages

Optional equipment

Multi-axis backgauge packages

Additional independently positioned fingers and axes support more involved workpiece positioning. These are backgauge-axis counts, not a count of all machine axes.

  • 4 axes: X, R, Z1, Z2
  • 5 axes: X, R, Z1, Z2, X1
  • 6 axes: X1, X2, R1, R2, Z1, Z2
Laser safety protection

Optional equipment

Laser safety protection

The catalogue illustrates a DSP laser protection device at the tooling area. The machine's complete safeguarding arrangement must be specified for the equipment and destination requirements.

  • DSP laser device pictured in the catalogue
  • Safety integration is confirmed as part of the machine package
Laser angle measurement

Optional equipment

Laser angle measurement

Laser angle measurement provides information about the workpiece bend angle. It is a process-measurement option and serves a different purpose from the laser safety device.

  • Workpiece angle measurement during bending
  • Controller and machine integration require confirmation
CNC follower supports

Optional equipment

CNC follower supports

Unlike manually positioned front supports, a follower support tracks the workpiece as it turns during a bend. The CNC system calculates and controls the following angle and speed.

  • CNC-controlled following motion
  • Lateral positioning along the support guide
WILA hydraulic upper clamping

Optional equipment

WILA hydraulic upper clamping

The WILA upper-tool system uses hydraulic clamping with electrically controlled clamping and release. It is a tooling-interface option for tool changes, not the same assembly as the catalogue quick clamp.

  • Hydraulic upper-tool clamping
  • Tool profile and holder compatibility must be checked
WILA hydraulic lower holders

Optional equipment

WILA hydraulic lower holders

The illustrated lower-tool holder uses hydraulic clamping with electrically controlled release. Its suitability depends on the selected die interface and machine configuration.

  • Hydraulic lower-die retention
  • Separate from the standard double-V / T lower clamp
Robotic bending cell

Application-specific

Robotic bending cell

The catalogue shows a flexible bending cell combining the press brake, robot and workpiece-handling areas. The layout is a reference concept, not a fixed package or a documented customer installation.

  • Cell layout developed around the workpiece and production sequence
  • Robot, handling, guarding and machine interfaces defined together

CONFIGURATION QUESTIONS

Before selecting your equipment.

Which controller comes with this series?

The SPC machine illustration shows an SNSIE CNC system and lists 4+1-axis control. A controller's maximum capability does not mean every supported axis is installed on the machine. The supplied controller is recorded in the machine quotation.

Are the listed options included as standard?

No. The standard assemblies follow the catalogue section on printed pages 07-10. Multi-axis backgauges, auxiliary measurement, hydraulic WILA holders and automation are described separately on pages 16-18. Final availability and compatibility depend on the machine configuration.

Is a four-axis backgauge the same as 4+1-axis machine control?

No. Backgauge packages count the positioning axes in that assembly. Machine-axis descriptions also include ram and compensation control. For example, the SPC catalogue lists Y1, Y2, X, R and V as 4+1-axis control.

What is needed to select tooling and handling equipment?

Provide the part drawing, material and thickness, bend lengths, required geometry and production sequence. These guide discussion of punch and die profiles, backgauge access and sheet support. The catalogue tool-installation diagrams are available in the technical resources.
